During Laser Engraving, which is a subset of Laser marking, the workpiece surface is melted and evaporated by the laser. Consequently, the laser beam removes the material. The produced impression in the surface is the engraved area. Laser engraving is a contact-free process and no fixation of the workpiece is required during machining.
